See how I did in the month of February and whether I met my goal!
February has been quite the month on The Wooden Skillet! Do you guys think I met my goal?…….
So I last updated this series about mid-month and things were going pretty well. I was just barely behind my goal and I think I said I was “cautiously optimistic”….. well, for whatever reason, almost immediately after posting that update, things just went quiet. I mean really quiet.
Like, really quiet.
I don’t really have an explanation for it. Whatever I had been doing right the first part of the month, apparently wasn’t happening anymore. The numbers fell off, I got sick for about 5 days and all of the sudden I am too far off my goal to really recover – absent some major source of views; which didn’t happen.
So, long story short, I didn’t reach my goal you guys.
My goal was 7,724 – my actual was 6,220 (incredible close to what I did in January).
I am feeling…… a little discouraged, confused and disheartened. But, then I take a deep breath and tell myself to calm down. I essentially had 2 bad weeks, the first part of the month I kicked butt. I will keep my head down and keep plugging away. Improving my photography and trying to deliver even better posts.
IF YOU ARE WORKING ON SOMETHING
THAT YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PUSHED
THE VISION PULLS YOU.
Bottom line is I absolutely love LOVE food blogging. I love everything about it. And I will only use my feelings of discouragement to energize me this month to see what I can do. I have my eyes on my goal and whether that happens this year or next year, I don’t necessarily care. But I will reach it.
In the meantime, I am super pumped about all the awesome recipes I have scheduled for this month!! So many yummy things. A lot of them irish-inspired for St. Patrick’s Day! I am very interested to see how this month goes!
If you feel like cheering me up….. you can follow me on Pinterest! 🙂 Kidding. But, seriously, that would be cool of you.
Oh, and hey – speaking of all things St. Patrick’s Day inspired – if you are in the need for the most classic St. Patrick’s Day recipe ever, check out this Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe. It is ridiculous.
Alright you guys, sorry I don’t have better news. It wasn’t for lack of trying.
On a more positive note, Ben and Jerry’s now makes diary-free ice cream and it is frickin amazing. You need to try it. I think I might go wallow in my sorrows with some Chunky Monkey right now…….
I will check in mid-month and let you know how things are going! Enjoy your Friday everyone!
