Description

Our delicious and fun S’mores Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect dessert for serving a crowd all summer long!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 tablespoons butter (regular or plant-based)
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (reg. or dairy-free)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 16oz mini marshmallows, divided
  • 9 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate bars (approx. (4) 1.55oz bars total), cut into chunks (plus more for on top)
  • 9 graham cracker sheets, broken into pieces (1 pack or sleeve from the box)

Instructions

  1. Melt: Bring a large pot to a medium-high heat and add butter to melt. Once melted, mix in the 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Add 13 ounces of mini marshmallows and mix until fully melted.
  2. Rice Krispies: Remove the pot from the heat and mix in the 9 cups of Rice Krispies.
  3. Add-Ins: Now add the remaining 3 ounces of mini marshmallows, 1 cup of chocolate chunks, and broken apart graham crackers to the pot. Give it all a mix to combine (don’t over mix or the chocolate will melt too much – just a quick stir to combine).
  4. Bars: Now pour the mixture into a 9×13 baking pan and press down with a piece of parchment paper or wax paper. Once it has cooled a bit, option to press some additional pieces of chocolate and graham crackers in the top to make them a little more visible.
  5. Cool + Serve: Let the pan cool completely, cut, and serve!

Notes

  • Dairy-Free: feel free to use a dairy-free chocolate bar or chocolate chunks and a dairy-free sweetened condensed milk.
  • Cool: Since these are extra gooey rice krispies so you may need to let them sit in the pan for a while before serving.
  • Storage: cover the pan and keep at room temperature for 4-5 days. We made them extra gooey so that they wouldn’t try out too easily. Nobody likes a dry rice krispie bar.
