Description

Our super simple Strawberry Basil Simple Syrup is a perfect way to add that touch of sweetness and flavor to your favorite drinks!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, stems removed & sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 large sprig of fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Combine: Put all of the ingredients in a small saucepan and give it a stir.
  2. Simmer: Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat and then drop the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Strain: Pour the simmered syrup through a fine-mesh strainer and into a jar or bowl. Discard the strawberries and basil.
  4. Cool + Serve: Let the strawberry simple syrup cool completely before using. We love using it to make a Kentucky Buck!

Notes

  • Basil: feel free to omit, if you don’t have any or don’t want it.
  • Storage: keep in an airtight container in the fridge for about 2-3 weeks. Or freeze for up to 6 months.
