Ingredients
¾cuporange marmalade
4tablespoonsbuttermelted (sub plant-based butter)
2tablespoonsbrown sugar
¼cuporange juice
6poundbone-in ham
Instructions
Make Glaze: In a small bowl, add ¾ cup orange marmalade, melted butter, and 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Mix to combine and set aside.
Optional Injection: If you have a meat injector, you could fill it with a ¼ cup orange juice and insert it directly into several spots in the ham before cooking.
Slow Cooker: Add ¼ cup orange juice to the slow cooker and then place the 6 pound bone-in ham inside. Brush half of the glaze on the outside of the ham and reserve the rest for later. Cover and cook on the LOW setting for 4 hours.
Final Glaze: Transfer the ham from the slow cooker to a platter and brush on the remaining glaze. If you prefer a more crisp skin, place the ham on a sheet pan, brush with the glaze, and broil in the oven for a couple minutes.
Serve: Let the ham rest for 5 minutes, carve and serve!
Notes
Dairy-Free: simply use a plant-based butter.
Optional Injection: to add even more flavor and juiciness to your ham, use a meat injector to add orange juice directly into the ham in several spots before cooking.
Oven Method: if you prefer to bake your ham, simply place the 1/4 cup orange juice in a roasting pan, add the ham, brush with half the glaze, and bake at 325 degrees F for 18-24 minutes per pound or until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees F.
