Description

Our easy and delicious Bourbon Maple Grilled Ham Steak is the perfect main dish for a simple weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale

Bourbon Maple Ham Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter (regular or plant-based)
  • 12 teaspoons bourbon
  • 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • scant lemon zest

Ham Steak:

  • 1 (1.25 – 1.5 pounds) ham steak (approx. 1/2 inch thick)
  • extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat the gas grill or charcoal grill to a high heat (450 degrees F) and clean the grill grates.
  2. Make Glaze: Put all of the glaze ingredients in a small bowl and mix to fully combine.
  3. Grill Ham Steak: Remove the ham steak from the packaging and brush both sides with a little bit of olive oil. Place ham steak directly on the clean, hot grill grates and sear for 2 minutes cooking time. Reduce to medium-high heat (375 degrees F). Flip ham and continue cooking for 1 minute. Brush some of the Glaze on the top side of the ham steak and continue cooking for 1 more minute. Carefully remove from the grill.
  4. Serve: Option to brush a little more Glaze on the ham before serving. Cut and enjoy immediately with your favorite side dishes!

Notes

  • Bourbon: highly recommend adding for that depth of flavor, but you can omit it, if you prefer.
  • Serving Suggestion: we love this ham steak recipe with some creamy mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus!
  • Storage: leftover ham can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
