Description

Balsamic Glaze (Reduction) – A simple recipe for homemade sweet balsamic glaze that will bring all of your favorite recipes to the next level!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8.5 oz container of balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup + 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Add balsamic vinegar and sugar to large saucepan.
  2. Whisk to fully combine.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce to simmer.
  5. Let it simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Glaze is done when it coats the back of a spoon (remember it will thicken as it cools).
  7. If you don’t want too sweet of a glaze, start with 1/4 cup sugar and taste it at the 20 minute mark. You can always add more sugar.
  8. The better the balsamic vinegar you use, the better the glaze.

Notes

  • Storage: once it has cooled you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
