Learn how to make a baked potato on the grill with this super easy recipe! The perfect side dish for any grilled dinner!
Ingredients
4russet potatoes
extra virgin olive oil
kosher salt and ground black pepper
for serving: sour cream, butter, chives, and seasoned salt
Instructions
Prep Grill: Preheat grill to a medium-high heat (400-450℉).
Prep Potatoes: Wash 4 russet potatoes, poke a few holes in each one with a fork, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, and sprinkle with kosher salt and ground black pepper. Double wrap each potato individually in aluminum foil.
Grill: Place directly on the grill grates and close the grill lid. Let cook for approx. 45-60 minutes (or until internal temp reaches 210℉), but total cook time will depend upon the size/width of your potatoes.
Serve: Remove from grill and serve with your favorite baked potato toppings to create an ultimate loaded baked potato!
Notes
Pre-Cook: you *can* precook these in the microwave (poke with fork, microwave for about 4 minutes on HIGH wrapped in a damp paper towel) before following the directions above to shorten the cook time a little bit.
Large Potatoes: if you have larger russet potatoes then I would definitely recommend microwaving beforehand to shorten the total cook time.
Storage: any leftover potatoes can be taken out of the foil and stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Simply reheat in the microwave.
