Ingredients
12tablespoonsbuttersoftened (plus extra for skillet)
1cupbrown sugar
½cupgranulated sugar
2large eggs
2teaspoonsvanilla extract
2 ½cupsall purpose flour
1teaspoonbaking soda
½teaspoonkosher salt
1cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Rub a 12 inch, deep cast iron skillet with softened butter to lightly coat. Set aside.
Butter + Sugar: In a large mixing bowl and using either a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat together 12 tablespoons butter with 1 cup brown sugar and ½ cup granulated sugar until smooth. Add 2 large eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and beat until just barely combined.
Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl combine 2 ½ cups all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon kosher salt. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and combine. Fold in 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Bake: Pour out cookie dough into prepared cast iron skillet. Place in oven, middle rack, and let bake 22-27 minutes or until the edges start to turn light golden brown.
Serve: Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
