Slow Cooker Applesauce - A delicious and easy slow cooker applesauce recipe! No added sugar!
Ingredients
5-6poundsapplespeeled and sliced
¼cupwater
1-2cinnamon sticks
¼teaspoonground nutmeg
pinchground cloves
pinchkosher salt
Instructions
Slow Cooker: Add sliced apples, ¼ cup water, 1-2 cinnamon sticks, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, pinch ground cloves and a pinch kosher salt in a slow cooker.
Cook: Place the lid on top and cook on the high setting for 3 hours. Mix with a spoon to combine.
Texture: Feel free to use an immersion blender for a smoother texture, otherwise just mix together with a spoon.
Serve: Enjoy right away or store for later!
Notes
Storage: Store in refrigerator in an airtight container up to a week.
Freezer: Freeze in freezer-safe container (leave an inch on top to allow for expansion) for up to 6 months.
Peeling Apples: Use an apple peeler to speed up the process! I used this one from KitchenAid!
