¼teaspoonground black pepper
2eggs
1 ¼cupscorn flakescrushed (regular or gluten-free)
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 425℉. Prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Make Sauce: In a small saucepan, add ⅓ cup honey, 1-2 teaspoons garlic, 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, and a pinch of kosher salt and ground black pepper. Set aside.
Prep Chicken + Bowls: Pat 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts dry with clean paper towel. In a wide, flat bowl combine ¼ cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon kosher salt and ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper. In another wide, flat bowl crack 2 eggs and whisk. In another wide, flat bowl add 1 ¼ cups corn flakes (crushed).
Bread Chicken: Ensuring the parchment-lined baking sheet is nearby, take one chicken breast at a time and first dredge it in the flour mixture, then in the egg wash and finally place in the crushed corn flakes and ensure it is fully covered. Place on the baking sheet and repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.
Bake: Place in the oven, middle rack, and let them bake 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature at the thickest part reaches 165℉.
Warm Sauce: Right before the chicken comes out of the oven, bring the Hot Honey Sauce to medium heat. Stir often and let the honey warm through approx. 3-5 minutes (don't let it boil here - we are just warming it through so it is "hot").
Serve: Place chicken on a plate and drizzle with the Hot Honey Sauce. Enjoy!
