Our easy Smoked Sweet Potatoes have a delicious smokey flavor, plus a homemade cinnamon sugar butter for serving!
Ingredients
Sweet Potatoes:
3sweet potatoeshalved
1-2tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
kosher salt and ground black pepper
Cinnamon Sugar Butter:
6-8tablespoonsbuttersoftened (regular or plant-based)
3tablespoonsbrown sugar
1 1/2teaspoonsground cinnamon
pinchof allspice
pinchof kosher salt
Instructions
Prep: Preheat the smoker to 225 degrees F.
Season Potatoes: Place the sweet potatoes, cut-side down, on the sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Massage oil around the potatoes.
Smoke Potatoes: Place the whole pan on the smoker and let smoke for about 1.5-2 hours or until their internal temperature reaches 205 degrees F (use a meat thermometer). Cook time will depend on the size of the potatoes.
Butter Mixture: While the potatoes are on the smoker, combine the butter mixture in a small bowl. Set aside.
Serve: Enjoy potatoes, cut-side up, with some cinnamon sugar butter on top!
Notes
Dairy-Free: use a plant-based butter.
Instant Pot: highly recommend using an electric smoker for that added flavor, but you could also make Instant Pot Sweet Potatoes.
