An easy, delicious homemade Tzatziki Sauce recipe that is perfect for your favorite gyro or Greek-Inspired recipes!
Ingredients
1cupEnglish cucumberpeeled, remove seeds and diced
1cupplain Greek yogurt
2-3teaspoonslemon juice
1tablespoongarlicminced
1/4teaspoonground black pepper
1/2teaspoondried dill
2teaspoonfresh mint leaves
Instructions
Prep Cucumber: Prepare cucumber by peeling, removing seeds, and dicing. Put the cucumber pieces in some paper towel and squeeze out as much water as possible.
Blend: Add the cucumbers and the rest of the ingredients to a food processor. Blend until it reaches a smooth consistency. Taste and adjust any seasoning, as-desired.
Chill: Place in refrigerator so that the sauce can thicken, approx. 1 hour.
Serve: Use in your favorite recipe - we love it on our Chicken Gyros!
Notes
Cucumber: we recommend using English cucumbers because they are a little less watery. Be sure to peel the cucumbers or the sauce will end up green in color.
