This easy homemade Salmon Seasoning combines dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper for a bright, fresh seasoning blend that's perfect on baked, grilled, smoked, or air fryer salmon. Ready in just 5 minutes.
Prep: Preheat oven to 425℉. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Combine: In a small bowl, add 1 teaspoon lemon zest, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, and ¼ teaspoon dried dill. Mix to combine.
Season Salmon: Put 5 salmon fillets on the parchment-lined sheet pan and pat dry with paper towel. Cover the outside of the fillets with the seasoning mixture.
Bake: Move the pan to the preheated oven to bake for 16-20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 145℉ at the thickest part of the fish (use a meat thermometer).
Serve: Let the salmon rest for a few minutes and then enjoy!
Leftovers: leftover cooked salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
Seasoning Storage: the seasoning without the lemon zest can be stored in the pantry for up to 3 months. Add the fresh lemon zest right before adding to the salmon.
