Ingredients
Dry Rub:
2 ½tablespoonssmoked paprika
2 ½tablespoonslemon pepper
1tablespoonsmoked garlic powder
½tablespoonkosher salt
1teaspoonground black pepper
½tablespoononion powder
¼teaspooncayenne pepperoptional
Country Style Ribs:
4poundscountry style ribs
1-2tablespoonsliquid smoke
1-2tablespoonsworcestershire sauce
2-4tablespoonsyellow mustard
1bottle of your favorite bbq sauce
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 325℉. Option to line a 9x13 baking dish with foil, if you want, for easier clean-up.
Dry Rub: In a small bowl combine the Dry Rub ingredients.
Prep Ribs: Place ribs in the 9x13 baking dish. Pour liquid smoke over top and rub all over ribs, getting in every nook and cranny. Repeat process with the worcestershire sauce and then the yellow mustard. Sprinkle the Dry Rub all over the ribs and rub into them - this will create a bit of the paste when mixed with the yellow mustard.
Bake: Cover pan with foil and place in the oven, middle rack, for approx. 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 140-150℉ (use a meat thermometer). Remove foil and return pan to oven and let cook until the internal temperature reaches 195℉. Remove pan from oven and brush on your favorite bbq sauce. Increase oven temp to 400℉ and return to oven, uncovered. Let cook another 5-10 minutes or until BBQ sauce is nice and tacky and the internal temp rises to 200℉.
Rest + Serve: Remove from oven and let rest 10-15 minutes. Serve with additional BBQ sauce - we love serving these with our Dill Pickle Pasta Salad!
Notes
Cook Time: we tested this on 4 pounds of ribs and it took approx. 2 hours for them to reach the 200 degree F. mark - this will vary depending upon the thickness of your ribs, how hot your oven runs, etc. Use an internal meat thermometer to track the temp.
BBQ Sauce: we love our homemade barbecue sauce, but feel free to buy your favorite store-bought version.
