An Easy Christmas Sangria Recipe
There is simply nothing better than sipping on a delicious festive beverage during the holiday season! It is perfect for sharing with friends and families while baking cookies, sharing gifts, trimming the tree, or while enjoying your Christmas Day dinner. The garnish options not only make it beautiful but also add some great flavor! You have to try it!
What You Will Need
- red wine – just grab your favorite bottle – it doesn’t need to be a fancy or expensive one.
- pomegranate juice – perfect for some added flavor and a touch of sweetness.
- Grand Marnier – this really makes it festive with a splash of alcohol – feel free to omit if you prefer a mocktail.
- navel orange & honey crisp apple – these provide some great fruit flavors in addition to looking beautiful!
- simple syrup – you can adjust the amount depending on how sweet you like it.
- cinnamon stick – adds some great holiday flavor!
- crushed ice – optional for serving if you haven’t had the time to cool the whole pitcher.
- garnish options: fresh rosemary, raw cranberries, & cinnamon sticks
Should Sangria Be Made The Night Before?
Ideally, you would have the pitcher of sangria in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving so that it is nice and cool. If you are able to make it the night before serving – even better! It will be cool and it will give the flavors plenty of time to hangout and do their thing. Plus, it’s always nice when you can make something ahead of time!
What Fruit Goes Best In Sangria?
In this recipe we used an orange and an apple and then garnished it with some raw cranberries, but there are plenty of fruit options you could use – lemons, pineapples, peaches, plums, etc. Feel free to customize it to your preferences.
How Much Alcohol Does Sangria Have?
This is really up to you! In our pitcher of Christmas Sangrias we used a whole bottle of red wine and a quarter cup of Grand Marnier, but you can absolutely adjust that to your preference – more or less!
How Long Can Sangria Last?
This can vary a bit depending on what fruit you put in yours, but generally it will last in the fridge for about 3-5 days.
How To Make Christmas Sangria
Place all ingredients in a large pitcher and mix.
Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours and serve with your favorite garnish!
Enjoy!!!

Made for Christmas Eve. Very easy to make ahead. I don’t think I’m a fan of pomegranate juice, so I think I’ll skip it next time. Overall it was a nice festive sipper to watch Hallmark movies.
