What You Will Need
- soy sauce – option to sub with tamari or coconut aminos to make it gluten-free.
- garlic paste & ginger paste – these really pack all the best flavor in our simple homemade sauce.
- sesame oil, garlic chili paste, & rice vinegar – extra flavor ingredients that compliment the soy sauce base so well!
- butter & fresh garlic – mix the softened butter and garlic together to add even more incredible flavor during the cooking process.
- wild-caught salmon fillet – we love grabbing some fresh salmon from our grocery store on the day we plan to cook it or cook it the next day. Option to use skin-on or skin-off salmon.
- olive oil – drizzle some on the salmon and broccolini before cooking and then some on the flat top grill to help prevent sticking.
- salt and pepper – simple seasonings that are always a must and help enhance the natural flavors of the salmon!
- fresh broccolini – absolutely love this fresh vegetable as one of our favorite sides, but feel free to use regular broccoli or another favorite fresh veggie.
- cooked rice – any type of rice will work great here – white rice, brown rice, etc.
How To Make Blackstone Salmon Bites
The first steps to making this easy blackstone salmon recipe are to gather and prep all of the ingredients. It is a fast cooking process so it helps to have everything ready to go. Cut the salmon fillets into small pieces and remove any salmon skin (if it has skin).
Place all of the sauce ingredients in small bowl or glass jar. Mix to fully combine.
Bring the flat top grill to a medium high heat, drizzle with olive oil, and then toss on the seasoned salmon pieces. Use a large spatula to toss and keep cooking salmon, while adding some soy sauce and garlic butter to the hot cooking surface.
Now drizzle some olive oil on the other side of the hot griddle and add the broccolini. Toss to continue cooking for about 3-4 minutes.
Finish cooking fish until it has reached an internal temperature of 140 degrees F it can be removed and set aside on a plate or large platter.
Finally, it is time to build your rice bowls. Divide the rice, salmon, and broccolini into individual bowls. Serve with the garlic soy sauce on top.
Best Way To Serve Blackstone Salmon
As stated in the recipe card, we love to reserve most of the garlic soy sauce for drizzling on top of the salmon before eating. Also, feel free to add some sesame seeds or chopped green onions for a little garnish. We love adding the grilled broccolini to this salmon rice bowl, but if you are looking for another side dish in this delicious meal we recommend some fresh asparagus or green beans.
Recipe FAQs
- What seasonings go on salmon? When cooking this salmon on Blackstone we created a simple soy sauce based sauce that brings a ton of great flavor, but you could also use a teriyaki sauce or our blackened seasoning with a fresh dill sauce on top.
- How long to cook salmon on Blackstone? This depends on the thickness of the salmon that you are cooking. If you cut your salmon into 1.5-2 inch cubes, it should only take about 4-5 minutes. Be sure to use a meat thermometer to keep track of the internal temp.
- Can I cook this on the stovetop? Yes, if you do not have a flat top griddle to make this blackstone griddle recipe, you can easily cook this salmon recipe in a cast iron skillet. We would recommend using a separate large skillet to cook the broccolini or they will have to take turns in the hot pan.

Description
Delicious and Easy Blackstone Salmon Bites are the perfect weeknight dinner idea! Packed with flavor and ready in 30 minutes!
Ingredients
Garlic Soy Sauce:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce (sub Tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons garlic paste
- 1 teaspoons ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoon garlic chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Garlic Butter:
- 2 tablespoons butter, room temp
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
Salmon Bites:
- 1.5 pounds fresh salmon
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (sub avocado oil)
- kosher salt & ground black pepper
- soy sauce (sub Tamari)
Other Ingredients:
- 6–12oz broccolini
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil, more for cooking
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt, more as desired
- 4 cups basmati rice, cooked*
Instructions
- Garlic Soy Sauce: Combine Garlic Soy Sauce ingredients in a small bowl or mason jar. Whisk to combine. Set aside.
- Garlic Butter: Combine Garlic Butter in a separate small bowl. Set Aside.
- Prep Salmon: If using skin-on salmon, remove skin and cut salmon into approx. 1 1/2 -2 inch chunks. Place in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil; toss to coat. Season with kosher salt and ground black pepper. Set aside.
- Prep Broccolini: Trim broccolini – I like to break up thicker stalks by cutting them in half lengthwise, etc. Place on a plate or in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and massage oil into broccolini. Season generously with kosher salt.
- Cook Salmon: Bring flat top griddle to medium-high heat. Add oil to one side of the flat top and move around. Place salmon chunks down in oil and let cook 1 minute. Drizzle with some soy sauce and let cook another 1-2 minutes. Flip and drizzle with a little more soy sauce and let cook 1-2 minutes or until the internal temp reaches 140 degrees F. Add 1 tablespoon of garlic butter and let melt. Move salmon around in butter and then drizzle with a little Garlic Soy Sauce (leaving most of it for later). Toss salmon in sauce and butter and then transfer to plate.
- Cook Broccolini: While salmon cooks add a drizzle of olive oil to the other side of the flat top and move around to coat. Add broccolini and move around, flipping and tossing – approx. 3-4 minutes or until broccolini starts to char a bit. Transfer to plate.
- Build Bowls: Divide rice between bowls, top with some broccolini and salmon bites. Pour remaining Garlic Soy Sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
Notes
- *Rice: feel free to use any variety of rice, we used basmati rice.
- Salmon: feel free to use more or less salmon, as desired.
- Storage: leftover salmon can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
