What You Will Need
- precooked andouille sausage – A popular sausage that you can find at most grocery stores. Its our favorite kind of sausage thanks to it’s natural smokey flavors. You can always experiment with other pork sausage varieties like Kielbasa.
How To Cook Smoked Sausage
Start by preheating your smoker to 225 degrees F and ensure that the grill grates are clean.
Then remove the sausage from its packaging and place it directly on the hot grates.
How Long To Smoke Sausage
Smoke the sausage between 1.5 and 2 hours for the best smokey flavor. Don’t be surprised if the sausage casing darkens quiet a bit during the smoking process. This is normal with andouille sausage.
Pro Tip
If you want to look like a true pro, sear the sausage on a grill at medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes to get those nice char lines.
How To Serve Smoked Sausage
Our sausage and rice dish is a great way to use up leftover smoked sausage. All you have to do is slice the sausage into bite size pieces and follow our simple steps. For an easy dinner, meal prep a double or triple batch of smoked sausage links in advance and serve them with white rice and smoked broccoli.
