Seriously Good Horseradish Steak Sauce
We are huge fans of steak around here, especially in the summer. A nice grilled steak or even a lovely little cast iron filet mignon. They really are so simple and delicious. But sometimes you want a little something extra – that is where this sauce comes in. The mixture of horseradish and mayo is just a match made in heaven. Throw it on top of your steak. Dip it. Or make a little steak salad…..
Regardless of how you use it, I know you guys are going to love it! This is something we make ALL the time! It would be perfect for Memorial Day, too!

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup + 1 tablespoon mayo
- 1/2 cup prepared horseradish
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- salt, to taste
Instructions
- Combine mayo, prepared horseradish and minced garlic.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Taste and add salt as needed (depending upon what kind of mayo you use, you might not need to add any salt).
- Additionally, if you like your horseradish strong, add additional prepared horseradish, as desired.
Notes
- makes approx. 1 1/4 cups
- if you need this to be paleo/Whole30, ensure you mayo is compatible (or use our homemade mayo recipe).

This was great and very easy–thank you! Made it to go with your rib roast recipe which was also excellent! Only difference is i used a local restaurant’s steak seasoning (McGuire’s) and added fresh dill to the horseradish sauce. These two recipes were just what i wanted and was frustrated looking around the internet… So many recipes i found were complex for what i felt should be very straight forward. Then i found yours! Decided to subscribe you your blog because they were so great… And i never do that. Feel the compliment!! ;^)

How is this compliant? I can’t find compliant horset radish anywhere so am puzzled by this review

Hi Deb! Horseradish is a root vegetable and is Whole30 compliant. Many companies, such as Silver Spring, sell jarred horseradish (not creamed) and the ingredients are usually only: HORSERADISH, DISTILLED VINEGAR, WATER, SALT, NATURAL FLAVOR. Let me know if you have any further questions – thanks!
