The Best Blueberry Mojito
In our opinion, there is simply nothing better than an original mojito or strawberry mojitos on a hot summer day! That light and refreshing combination of fresh fruit and mint is amazing. Plus, that beautiful blue color in this fresh blueberry mojito makes them perfect for serving at a 4th of July celebration or other family events. This classic cuban cocktail is definitely a crowd pleaser and so easy to make!

What You Will Need
- sugar & slice of lime – use a little bit of both to add a delicious sugar rim to your highball glass.
- sweet blueberries – love using these fresh berries for their taste and color!
- fresh mint leaves – a traditional ingredient for making any mojito recipe.
- ice – we love using lots of ice cubes, but crushed ice would also work. It just melts faster.
- light rum – we love a classic clear rums, like Bacardi, but feel free to use any variety of your favorite rum from your local liquor store.
- fresh lime juice – this touch of acidity pairs really nicely with sweet sugar and fresh mint.
- sweet syrup – option to make a homemade simple syrup or pick up a store bought version at your local grocery store.
- tonic water – highly recommend this for that added fizz on top, but you can also use sparkling water, club soda, or soda water.
How To Make A Blueberry Mojito
The first steps to making this wonderful recipe are to add a delicious sugar rim to your cocktail glass. This is done by rubbing the rim with a lime wedge, then flip the glass over, and turn that rim in some sugar that is on a small plate. Now, flip the glass back over, add some mint leaves, and use a cocktail muddler or end of a wooden spoon to bread them apart. Then muddle blueberries.
Substitution
- Rum: option to omit the rum if you prefer a blueberry mojito mocktail. It will still be delicious and without any alcohol.
Put half the blueberries, rum, simple syrup, & lime juice in a small food processor or blender and blend for about 30 seconds – 1 minute.
Pour the blueberry mixture over ice.
Add a splash of tonic water and garnish your favorite summer drink with some sprigs of mint and blueberries.
Recipe FAQs
- How to make simple syrup for mojitos? We have a whole post on how to make simple syrup! It is basically, equal parts water and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat to let the sugar dissolve and that’s it.
- Can I make a larger batch? Absolutely! Depending on how big your food processor is, you can easily make a double or triple batch.
