Key Ingredients + Substitutions
Be sure to see the recipe card below for a full listing of ingredients, instructions, and estimated nutritional information.

- Strawberries – highly recommend using fresh berries. Frozen strawberries can be used, but they will need to be thawed and strained before using.
- Simple Syrup – learn how to make homemade simple syrup or pick up a store-bought version.
- Rum – traditional mojitos are made with white Cuban rum, but feel free to use your favorite.
- Lime Juice – use fresh lime juice, bottled lime juice or key lime juice.
How To Make A Strawberry Mojito

Step 1 – Option to add a sugar rim to your cocktail glass.

Step 2 – Muddle mint and strawberries in the bottom of the glass.
Why Blend AND Muddle Strawberries?
This recipe was tested with only blending strawberries and only muddling strawberries. We found that a mix of both was the best way to give maximum flavor and still have some chunks of fresh berries that look and taste amazing!

Step 3 – Blend berries, lime juice, simple syrup, and rum in a food processor.

Step 4 – Pour mixture over ice and top with tonic water.
Tonic Water vs. Soda Water
Tonic water contains quinine and sugar, which results in a slightly bitter and sweet flavor. Soda water contains additional minerals, which provide a very mild salty flavor. Both carbonated options will work, but we found that the slightly sweet and citrusy flavor of tonic water complimented this drink the best.

Erin’s Testing Tips: What We Learned
👉 For best results, use fresh strawberries and be sure to both muddle some and blend some with the other ingredients.
👉 Adjust the blended mixture to your desired taste – more or less sweetness, more or less lime juice, etc.
👉 Add that sugar rim for a touch of added sweetness and it looks so fancy!

So good – will be making it all summer!

So good! Used a little less simple syrup because it’s sweet enough on its own. Use good rum for the best results.
