- brown sugar – The main ingredient in this simple glaze to help balance out the saltiness of the ham. Dark brown sugar or light will both work.
- butter – Helps to spread the amazing flavor all over your ham.
- dijon mustard – Adds a subtle tangy flavor and a spicy kick to the overall flavor profile.
How To Make 3 Ingredient Brown Sugar Ham Glaze

Step 1: Combine ingredients a small bowl until it creates a smooth consistency.

Step 2: Now follow your favorite ham recipe for when to brush it onto the main dish to make the best holiday meal. We use a simple basting brush to do this, or you could use a pastry brush. Regardless, be sure that it gets on top of the ham and on the outside of the ham, covering every nook and cranny. In our spiral ham recipe, we use half of this delicious glaze prior to cooking, and then the remaining glaze to add some finishing touches.
Stove Top Option
Option to make this in a small saucepan on the stove top if you prefer – once the butter melts keep the heat on low so the sugar doesn’t burn.
Recipe FAQs
Yes! Just place all of the ingredients in a small saucepan and warm slightly on the stovetop until the butter melts.
This all depends on how big your ham is, but better safe than sorry. Then you can always store the leftovers in an airtight container if you have extras.
