How To Make Brown Sugar Glaze For Ham

When Should I Add the Glaze to the Ham?
Once the glaze is fully combined, you can use a basting brush to coat the outside of the ham in the brown sugar glaze. This is can be done when you have about 20 minutes of cook time remaining on the ham. Just brush on the glaze and return the ham to finish cooking, uncovered, and let it rest before carving.

Recipe FAQs and Tips
- Can I glaze the ham the night before? No, we do not recommend glazing the ham for more than 30 minutes left of the cook time, otherwise you run the risk of the sugar burning.
- Do I need to score the ham before adding a glaze? You do not have to score the ham, but it is helpful to get the more of the glaze into the meat of the ham and not just on the outside. Scoring a ham should be done before it starts cooking.
- glazed ham steak: easily make a ham steak by brushing 1 to 2 tablespoons of the glaze on all sides of the meat and then cook it according to your favorite ham steak recipe.
