- plain yogurt – we used a plain Greek yogurt but a dairy-free alternative from your local grocery store would also work great!
- mayonnaise – perfect for adding to the creaminess and balances out that little bit of tangy flavor from the yogurt.
- lemon juice – a bit of acidity is always great to help amplify the other flavors.
- fresh garlic – everything is better with some garlic in the mix.
- ground cumin, kosher salt and pepper – simple seasonings that bring the best flavor!

Our all-time favorite ways to enjoy this garlic sauce, is to serve with our flavorful Chicken Shawarma or on top of a Chicken Shawarma Bowl! It would also be great with our perfectly grilled steaks or some simple blackstone chicken thighs.

Storage
Leftover sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Making it a great option for meal prep at the beginning of the week too!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon mayo
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- pinch of ground black pepper
Instructions
- Combine: Put 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon mayo, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon garlic, 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, & a pinch of ground black pepper in a small bowl; stir to combine.
- Taste: Add any additional cumin, salt or lemon juice – as desired.
- Serve: Use immediately or cover tightly and store in the refrigerator until use.
Notes
- Dairy-Free: you can sub a plain/unsweetened dairy-free yogurt instead of the plain Greek yogurt.
- Serving: we love serving this with some Chicken Shawarma or on a Chicken Shawarma Bowl!
