Meatloaf Glaze – take your favorite meatloaf recipe to the next level with this homemade meatloaf glaze! So easy and so good!
Easy Meatloaf Glaze Recipe
Adding a delicious glaze to your meatloaf is a great way to kick things up a notch! This is more of a ketchup glaze for meatloaf, but it tastes so much better than just typical ketchup! We add in some yummy bbq sauce, apple cider vinegar and liquid smoke is optional too if you want it nice and smokey. This recipe is perfect for any meatloaf recipe, but we love it on these Meatloaf Muffins, this Smoked Meatloaf or our Classic Meatloaf recipe!

What You Will Need
- ketchup: we used Primal Kitchen’s ketchup for this recipe just because the ingredients are so simple and clean and it isn’t too sweet. Feel free to use any other kind you want, I would just taste before adding in the extra sweetness of the coconut sugar – it might not need it!
- bbq sauce: we do have a homemade bbq sauce if you really want, but otherwise feel free to use any store-bought kind.
- coconut sugar: we don’t use much, just a little!
- apple cider vinegar: this adds in a little extra acidity.
- liquid smoke: this is totally optional, but sometimes it’s fun to up that smokiness flavor.

Recipe FAQ
- Ketchup: I used Primal Kitchen’s ketchup which isn’t super sweet – if you use a different ketchup I would taste before adding in the coconut sugar – you might not want it depending upon your taste!
- Paleo: to make this paleo use a store-bought ketchup + bbq sauce like Primal Kitchen that is paleo-friendly.
- Usage: brush on the meatloaf glaze on top of your favorite meatloaf recipe for the last 10 minutes or so of cooking. This will ensure the glaze isn’t overcooked but will still make it tacky and less runny on top of the meatloaf.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks.
