How To Make Spiked Apple Cider
The first steps to making this easy recipe are to use a sharp kitchen knife and cutting board to slice up the fresh fruit and gather the spices.
Now pour the apple cider in to a slow cooker or crock pot.
Then add the orange slices, apple slices, alcohol, and whole spices to the hot cider. Give the crockpot apple cider a mix and let it sit on the low setting for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish each hot drink and enjoy!
Prep Ahead of Time
You can store spiked apple cider in the fridge for about 5 days. Therefore, it can be prepped a night or two before serving and then just mix in the alcohol when you start warming it for serving.
Recipe FAQs
- What alcohol spikes apple cider? We recommend using your favorite bourbon or rum in this festive drink, but some people also like to use a whiskey or a cinnamon whiskey (i.e. Fireball). This is up to you and your preferred taste.
- Can I make this on the stove top? Yes, if you would rather make this warm drink on the stovetop, you can just toss all the ingredients in a dutch oven and keep your burner on a very low simmer so that it stays nice and warm. Just make sure you keep it covered and keep the heat low enough so that it isn’t bubbling.
