What Is Chipotle Sauce
There are so many variations of this popular condiment out there. What most chipotle sauce recipes have in common is a slightly smokey flavor, creamy texture, and mid-range spicy flavor. We added some fresh lime juice to add a fresh, tart flavor, which complements the other rich flavored ingredients.
How To Make Chipotle Lime Sauce
Start by gathering all of your ingredients and add them all to a small food processor and blend until smooth. You could blend these ingredients with a immersion blender if that’s easier.

Recipe FAQs and Tips
- Is chipotle sauce spicy? It can be, but our recipe is quite mild in terms of heat level. Add more chipotle peppers and sauce to increase the spice level.
- What is in chipotle sauce? There are a lot of recipes out there, but we used just a few simple ingredients that include mayonnaise, chipotle in adobo sauce, lime juice and zest, garlic cloves, soy sauce, and some salt.
