Healthy Honey Mustard Salad Dressing
You are never going to buy store-bought salad dressing again after you try this simple homemade option! It only takes 5 minutes and 6 real, simple ingredients. It is the perfect addition to all of those homemade summer salads (like our Honey Mustard Chicken Salad) or serve as a dip with some fresh vegetables or chicken tenders! The whole family will love devouring this sweet, but tangy dressing.

- plain Greek yogurt – the perfect creamy base for this salad dressing, but you also have the option of using a plain, unsweetened dairy-free yogurt if you want it to be dairy-free.
- yellow mustard & Dijon mustard – we love the combination of the two mustard flavors here!
- honey – just a touch of sweetness so that it doesn’t get too tangy.
- lemon zest – a little acidity helps to amplify all of the great flavor in this dressing.
- kosher salt & pepper – every homemade dressing needs at least a pinch of both.
How To Make A Homemade Honey Mustard Dressing

Step 1: Next, pour all of the ingredients into a mason jar or small mixing bowl.

Step 2: If you are using a mason jar, you can place the lid on top, tighten, and give it a good shake! Otherwise use a whisk to fully combine the ingredients in a bowl.

Step 3: Taste and make any flavor adjustments you need.

Step 4: Enjoy any way you want!
How To Use Creamy Honey Mustard Dressing
You really can’t go wrong here! This dressing is so good that we could eat it with just about anything. Here are a few ideas for you:
- drizzling – this creamy dressing is also great to serve with a perfectly smoked pork tenderloin or grilled pork tenderloin, grilled chicken thighs, or drizzle it all over a variety of roasted, sautéed or grilled vegetables!
- salad dressing – every time we make this dressing we find ourselves making salads out of pretty much anything or just drizzling it just on a pile of mixed greens or lettuce – any chance we have to eat more of it! We especially love it on our Honey Mustard Chicken Salad or a simple Grilled Chicken Salad!
- dipping – if we aren’t adding this to a salad, then you can find us dipping just about anything in it! Any fresh veggies that we can find (i.e. carrots, celery, bell peppers) or some of our delicious chicken tenders or homemade chicken nuggets.

Ingredients
- ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt, add up to 1/4 cup more, as needed
- 2 tablespoons honey, add up to 1 tablespoon more, as desired
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated
- pinch kosher salt and ground black pepper
- water to thin, if needed
Instructions
- Combine: In a wide-mouth mason jar, add ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 2 tablespoons dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, and pinch kosher salt and ground black pepper. Cover tightly with lid. Shake until fully combined.
- Or In a Bowl: Alternatively, you can add to mason jar or small bowl and whisk or stir until combined.
- Adjust: Taste and adjust any sweetness, as desired. If too thick – add water a tablespoon at a time and whisk again. Repeat until you have reached your desired thickness.
- Serve: Enjoy on your favorite salad – we love this Honey Mustard Chicken Salad!
Notes
- Dairy-Free: to make this dairy-free simply use a plain, unsweetened dairy-free yogurt in place of the Greek yogurt.
- Mustard: if you don’t like dijon mustard you can replace it with more yellow mustard if you prefer.
- Storage: store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
