Juicy Grilled Pork Chops
Grilling pork chops is a summer go-to for us when we need a quick meal (love serving them with Instant Pot mashed potatoes and gluten-free gravy). They are easy, quick and really flavorful! We have a few favorite Pork Chop Marinades that are fun to experiment with, a super flavorful Pork Chop Seasoning and an Easy Pork Chop Brine! So turn on that grill and lets go!
How Long Does it Take to Cook Pork Chops on the Grill
Grilling pork chops is relatively quick – while it ultimately depends on the thickness of your pork chop, cooking time is generally around 10-15 minutes on medium-high heat (over direct heat).
How Do You Keep Pork Chops Moist After Grilling
The key here is to not over-cook your pork chops. While the internal temperature of pork needs to be 145 degrees F. to be considered safe to eat, you should take them off the grill when they hit approximately 140/142 degrees F. Then, as they rest, the internal temperature will continue to rise that last 5 degrees or so. Also, if you can’t eat immediately, you can always brush them with a little avocado oil and then cover with foil – then will stay plenty juicy!
How Can You Tell if Pork Chops are Done
They are done when they hit an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. (use an internal meat thermometer to check).
What to Serve with Them
How to Grill Pork Chops
Pick out high-quality pork chops that have a bone-in.

Pat them dry with a clean paper towel.

Season with kosher salt and ground black pepper.

Alternatively, you can use this pork chop seasoning!

Or, you can use one of our favorite pork chop marinades (there are 4 to choose from).

Grill over direct, medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes per side (or until it reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees F.

PRO TIP: If you are using a pork chop marinade, we love making a little foil pan and grilling the pork chops in there – that way they can really cook in the marinade and the flavor stands out more!

Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Ingredients
- 4 pork chops, 1-inch thick & preferably bone-in
- kosher salt and ground black pepper, or pork chop seasoning
- pork chop marinade, optional
Instructions
- Optional Marinade: If using the marinade, place the pork chops in the marinade and let them sit for 30 minutes. Remove pork chops, allowing any excess to drip off before grilling. Discard the marinade.
- Prep: Ensure grill grates are clean and preheat grill to medium high heat (between 350-450℉).
- Season: Place 4 pork chops on a large plate. Pat dry with clean paper towel. Season with kosher salt and ground black pepper (or pork chop seasoning).
- Optional Marinade: Use a heavy duty piece of aluminum foil and create a foil "tray" out of it. Place on the grill over direct heat and spray with avocado oil (or other preferred nonstick). Grill the pork chops on this foil tray.
- Grill Pork Chops: Place pork chops over direct heat and close grill. Let cook for 5-7 minutes. Flip pork chops and let cook another 5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 140℉.
- Rest: Remove from grill and let rest 5-10 minutes.
- Serve: Enjoy with your favorite side dishes!
Notes
- Grilling with Marinade: you don’t have to use the aluminum foil method if you are using a pork chop marinade, but after testing our marinades we found they worked better and retained more flavor from the marinade this way. You can easily grill them without it if you want!
