What You Will Need
- graham crackers – just pick-up your favorite variety from your local grocery stores or use gluten-free graham crackers.
- unsalted butter – adds all the best flavor and holds the crust together.
- kosher salt – just a pinch because everything is always better with a little bit of salt.
- granulated sugar & brown sugar – this combination of sugars adds a nice touch of sweetness!
How To Make A Graham Cracker Crust
The first steps to making this easy recipe are to gather the basic ingredients. The graham crackers will need to be crushed. We placed them in a large ziploc bag and used a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs. A food processor or blender could also be used.
Now put the crushed graham crackers in a medium bowl with the melted butter, salt, & sugars and use a wooden spoon to mix it all together. It will have a texture similar to wet sand.
Next, transfer the crumb mixture to a pie plate. Use your hands to firmly press down in the bottom of the pie plate and up the sides. You can also use a flat-bottomed measuring cup for this process.
Once you have the crust formed in the bottom, place the pie pan in the preheated oven to bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Carefully remove the baked crust, let cool at room temperature, and then use in your favorite pie recipe.
