Easy Salmon Poke Bowl Recipe
As you probably already know, sushi is one of the greatest foods of all time! A poke bowl is basically a deconstructed sushi roll in a bowl, making it such an easy option for having a sushi-type meal at home. It is so flavorful and fresh! Once you try it, you will have it on regular rotation at your house just like it is at ours.

What You Will Need
- Sushi grade salmon – make sure you check with your grocer that it is sushi grade salmon.
- Cooked sushi rice – just choose your favorite and cook it according to the package directions.
- Edamame – a little extra protein, this is a great addition to any poke bowl.
- Avocado & cucumber – so light and refreshing!
- Cilantro – another amazing topping that packs some flavor.
- (optional) Sesame seeds – a fun topping if you choose to use them.
- Poke sauce – we made an easy & flavorful sauce with soy sauce (or tamari), sesame oil, sriracha, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, & lime juice. See below or purchase a store-bought sauce.
What Are Some Other Options To Add To The Bowl?
The options are really endless. The recipe below is how we typically make them but on occasion we also might add jalapeños, radishes, mango, pickled onions, etc.! You can really get creative here and we would love to hear your favorite combination in the comments below!
Can I Marinate The Salmon Before Cutting It Up?
You could, but we highly recommend letting it sit in the poke sauce after being cut up so there is more surface area of the salmon to soak up those delicious flavors!
Meal Prep
You can easily cook the rice ahead of time and store in the fridge, cut up your veggies and store them separately in the fridge, and mix up your sauce and store that in the fridge. We would just recommend waiting on the salmon and avocado until you are ready to eat the bowl for maximum freshness.
How To Make a Salmon Poke Bowl
Mix together your poke sauce, cut up your sushi grade salmon, and let the salmon marinate in the sauce while you prep the rest of your ingredients.
Step two – Place salmon and all other ingredients on top of the cooked rice in a bowl.
Step three – Enjoy!

Description
Salmon Poke Bowl – an easy, flavorful salmon poke bowl recipe! Learn how to make your own poke bowls at home!
Ingredients
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/8 teaspoon siracha
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon lime juice
Bowl:
- 8oz sushi grade salmon
- 2 cups cooked sushi rice (cook per package instructions)
- 1 cup edamame, shelled
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cup cucumber, sliced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- sliced jalapeño (optional)
- sesame seeds (optional – for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine Sauce ingredients in a small bowl; whisk to combine and set aside.
- Slice salmon into cubes and place in a medium bowl. Pour Sauce over top and set aside while prepping the remaining ingredients.
- Divide rice, marinated salmon, edamame, cucumber, avocado, jalapeño and cilantro between two bowls. Garnish with black sesame seeds, if desired. Serve with additional soy sauce if you want.

Notes
- consume raw food at your own risk.
- Sushi-Grade Salmon: I usually have good luck finding sushi-grade tuna at Whole Foods Market.
