This simple cooking process for making Smoked Eggs is a great way to hard boil eggs with some added smoky flavor! Enjoy by themselves or in any of your favorite egg recipes. The whole family is going to love enjoying them for a perfect snack or easy breakfast!
The Best Smoked Eggs
We have made hard boiled eggs on the stovetop, hard boiled eggs in the oven, air fryer hard boiled eggs, even Instant Pot hard boiled eggs. So we knew it was time to bring them to the next level and put our Traeger electric smoker to work and make an epic smoked egg recipe! All you need are a dozen eggs, or your desired amount, and enough wood chips to smoke them for about 45 minutes total. It is our new favorite way to enjoy a classic hard boiled egg, plus a little smoked flavor, without adding anything to them!
What You Will Need
- raw eggs – just pick-up some whole eggs from your local grocery store. Place as many as you want on the smoker.
How To Make Smoked Eggs
The first steps to making this easy recipe are to preheat the smoker to a medium-high heat of 325 degrees F. Place the eggs directly on the grill grates in a single layer. Let them smoke for 30-35 minutes.
Remove the cooked eggs from the smoker and place directly in a bowl of ice water. Let cool and then remove the outer egg shell from each egg. Now put the peeled eggs on a small baking sheet. Place it on the smoker at 190 degrees F for 10 minutes for the best flavor.
Pro Tip
Simply opening the lid of the smoker causes the temp to drop. So let the lid stay open for a few minutes to quickly drop the temperature from 325 degrees F to 190 degrees F.
What Is The Best Way To Eat Smoked Eggs
These easy smoked eggs can be enjoyed all on their own for a grab-and-go breakfast or healthy snack. You can also use them to make Smoked Deviled Eggs or a classic Egg Salad. That can be made into an egg salad sandwich, a wrap, or just enjoyed by itself!
