Plus, celery is also good with ranch and wings always need a good dip. If you are in need of a good wing dip, our ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing would be delicious!

Recipe FAQs and Tips
- Are buffalo wings spicy? They are a mild/medium spice level! If you check out the homemade buffalo sauce that goes with this, you will see that you can easily increase the spice level by adding some cayenne pepper. Or use your favorite store-bought sauce!
- Can you use frozen chicken wings? Yes, frozen chicken wings can be used but they will need to bake for much longer and the outside will not get as crispy. For best results, thaw the chicken wings before cooking.

Description
Our Buffalo Chicken Wings are a simple and delicious chicken wing recipe that is always a huge hit for dinner or serving a crowd for game day!
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- kosher salt and ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup buffalo sauce, more if desired (homemade buffalo sauce or store bought)
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place a large piece of aluminum foil on the bottom of a sheet pan. Set an oven safe wire rack on top and spray with olive oil.
- Season Chicken: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towel (the more dry the wings are, the more crispy they will become). Place chicken on the wire rack, keeping them spaced out and not touching. Sprinkle with salt and pepper (I used around 1/2 tablespoon of each).
- Bake: Move the whole pan to the preheated oven to bake for about 40 minutes, or until their internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (use a meat thermometer). Remove and let cool slightly.
- Add Sauce: Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl and toss in a 1/2 cup of buffalo sauce (option to add more, if desired). Allow chicken to sit in the sauce for a while, tossing once or twice. This will help the sauce to really coat the chicken.
- Serve: Enjoy with ranch dressing or homemade blue cheese and celery sticks.
Notes
- Buffalo Sauce: If you don’t feel like making homemade buffalo sauce, we love using Primal Kitchen’s Buffalo Sauce (which is also Whole30/Paleo compliant).
- No wire rack? No problem! Place the chicken directly on the foil, but then you will need to flip them halfway through and the chicken may not turn out quite as crispy on the outside.
- Storage: leftover wings can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
