My family’s new fav! Delicious flavor and so easy to make! Great leftovers!
Hillary says
Love the seasoning! But I found the lime made it taste bitter. Anything I could be doing wrong?
Erin says
Hi Hillary! I believe that can tend to happen when you cook lime like this right in the bottom of the slow cooker. If it bothers you maybe just squeeze some fresh lime juice on top at the end of cooking instead of adding the limes right into the slow cooker. Hope that helps!

I really loved this recipe. I’ve tried a few jerk recipes and this one was fantastic and really quick to prepare. I don’t know if I’ve ever done turmeric in jerk, and it’s not a spice I have really used in the past, but I like the addition. I’ll definitely by lurking around and trying some more of your recipes.
Erin says
So glad you enjoyed it, Laura!!
Katy says
This was a great recipe. I paired with the coconut rice and the accompaniments as shown (mango salsa, avocado, pickled red onions, jalapenos) and it was delicious.
Erin says
So happy to hear that, Katy!!
Susan says
Delicious jerk flavor; however; salt overload even with kosher salt. Also, the chicken was a bit dry. Next time I will omit the salt and instead add 1/2 cup chicken stock to the bottom of the crockpot before cooking.
Erin says
Sorry to hear you thought it was too salty, Susan! I actually just updated these photos + re-tested the recipe and I thought it was great, but everyone has different tastes. Thanks for trying the recipe!
JD says
Way too salty for me, too. Otherwise a good recipe though

My family loved the flavors in this recipe but it was very salty. I used just over a tablespoon of sea salt instead kosher salt. Is your kosher salt a flake salt or a larger grained salt? I’ll definitely use this recipe again but reduce the salt by half (at least). Thanks!!!
Erin says
Hi Emily! I just use coarse kosher salt for all my recipes – that might have been the issue here if you used sea salt! Glad you enjoyed it though!
Emily says
Yes. Lesson learned. I added rice to the leftovers and it all evened out. Also, I don’t know where else to say this but your website is the easiest to navigate and my top site for meal planning ideas each week. Thanks for all you do!
Erin says
Aw well thank you! That just made my day 🙂 So glad you enjoy the recipes and the website! Thanks for being here!

This was AMAZING. And relatively easy! The recipe didn’t mention when to add the bay leaves, but I figured it meant right when everything else goes in the slow cooker. Thanks!
