What You Will Need
- fresh green beans – just pull off their stems and they are ready to go.
- ghee – you could also use butter or olive oil – up to you!
- garlic – use generously because garlic is simply the best.
- kosher salt – everything needs a little sprinkle of salt for some added seasoning.
- lemon juice – a splash of acidity helps to amplify all the great flavors and keep them light and fresh tasting.
What Spices Go Well With Green Beans
This recipe is really all about the garlic! If you are looking to add something else you could easily add a little onion, parmesan, or red pepper flakes (if you like a little spice).
What To Serve With Garlic Green Beans
They are so versatile that you could really serve them with just about anything – chicken, pork, steak, pasta, the options are endless! Personally, we love them with Grilled Pork Chops, a Whole Roasted Chicken, or Healthy Homemade Salisbury Steak.
How Do You Refrigerate Cooked Green Beans
Once the green beans have fully cooled you can store them in a shallow, airtight container in the fridge for about 3-5 days.
Can You Freeze Sautéed Green Beans
Yes, you can store your cooked garlic green beans after they have fully cooled in a freezer safe bag for a couple months. Just be aware that when you heat them up to eat them they might get a little soggy. Generally, these taste much better when they are enjoyed right away but you can freeze them if you want.
How To Make Garlic Green Beans
Begin by heating up some ghee in a cast iron skillet.
Next, add the garlic and cook until fragrant – about 30 seconds.
Then you can add the green beans and kosher salt.
Sauté for about 5-7 minutes.
Toss in the lemon juice…
And enjoy!
