How To Make Honey BBQ Wings
The first, easy steps to making this delicious honey bbq wings recipe are to place all of the thawed chicken wings on a baking rack, that is on top of a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Season them generously with salt & pepper.
Place the entire pan in the preheated oven to bake at 400 degrees F and about 30-35 minutes of cook time or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F (use a meat thermometer) and they are golden brown.
After you let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes, place wings in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the bbq sauce and honey. Drizzle this sweet honey bbq sauce mixture over the crispy wings.
Toss to coat all sides of the chicken wings. Enjoy these sticky wings any way you want!
Best Way To Serve Honey BBQ Wings
These tasty little chicken wings are great all on their own, but we love nothing more than dunking them in some homemade ranch dressing or blue cheese salad dressing! And then we always have some carrot sticks and celery sticks on the side, just like your favorite wing restaurant would have. The perfect appetizer that will quickly become a family favorite!
Recipe FAQ
- Frozen chicken wings: we highly recommend thawing the chicken wings before cooking, but you don’t have to. They will just need to bake longer than thawed chicken wings will take.
- Crispness: if you like really crispy chicken wings, you will want to pat the wings dry with a paper towel before seasoning with salt/pepper, and then make sure they are spaced out in a single layer on the wire rack. You don’t want them touching each other!
