How To Cook Chicken Breasts In An Air Fryer
To start making this easy recipe, pat the raw chicken breast dry with a clean paper towels.
Rub the chicken down with olive oil and then sprinkle on the seasoning mixture.
How To Season Air Fryer Chicken Breast
We kept this recipe card simple with a very basic seasoning mixture, but you can easily take the flavors to the next level by using our homemade chicken seasoning, chicken marinade, or kick it up a notch with our blackened seasoning or cajun seasoning!
Place your perfectly seasoned chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Now air fry chicken breasts at 375 degrees F for about 13-14 minutes, flipping halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to keep an eye on the internal temperature. They need to reach 165 degrees F to be fully cooked. Cook time will vary depending on the size of your chicken breasts.
Pro tip: if you want to cook your chicken breasts even faster, try butterflying them into chicken cutlets. These will definitely reduce your cooking time, so be sure to keep a close eye on that internal temp.
Once they are fully cooked, serve them any way you want! With vegetable side dishes for a delicious meal or toss on your favorite pasta, salad, sandwich, or wrap!

Description
Air Fryer Chicken Breast – learn how to cook chicken breasts in the air fryer with this simple and delicious recipe!
Ingredients
- 3 medium-sized chicken breast (boneless, skinless), approx. 1 pound
- 2 teaspoons olive oil (or avocado oil)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F. for approx. 5 minutes.
- Pat chicken dry with clean paper towel.
- Combine salt, onion powder, garlic powder and paprika in a small bowl. Stir to combine.
- Drizzle chicken with olive oil and rub all over. Season generously with the seasoning ensuring the chicken is fully coated.
- Place chicken thighs in air fryer basket and let cook 7-9 minutes per side, but start checking the internal temperature after approx. 13-14 minutes just in case your air fryer runs hot. Remove from air fryer when chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (Note: I like to take mine out just a few degrees under 165 – the residual heat will continue to cook it while it rests). Set aside on a plate and let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serving: we love serving these with our Air Fryer Broccolini or Air Fryer Broccoli.
- Storage: store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Internal Temp. of Chicken: chicken is fully cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. at it’s thickest part.
