How To Prepare Pulled Pork For Nachos
To make this easy recipe you will need about 2 cups of cooked pulled pork. Some grocery stores sell pulled pork that is already cooked and just needs to be warmed up or you can easily make it at home. We have perfected the most amazing pulled pork recipes by cooking a pork shoulder or pork butt in a pressure cooker, smoker, or slow cooker. And the best part about making it at home is that you will have plenty of leftover pulled pork to use in another meal that week or easily freeze it and use it another time!
How To Make Pulled Pork Nachos
The first steps in making these sheet pan nachos are to put a layer of crispy chips on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Next, layer on half of the shredded pork, half of the barbecue sauce, and half of the cheese to the sheet pan.
Now add another layer of tortilla chips. The magic of these nachos is all in the layering!
Then add the rest of the pulled pork and tangy bbq sauce. Plus, the tomatoes, black beans, & green onions.
Finally, add another generous layer of shredded cheese!
Place the entire pan in a preheated oven and bake at 375 degrees F for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Then add any additional toppings you want. Enjoy!!
Best Way To Serve Pulled Pork Nachos
Typically, we like to create a nacho bar with all our favorite toppings. Plus, a variety of sides, like tomato salsa, salsa verde, sour cream, and fresh guacamole! And if you are serving these up on Sunday for game day or for Super Bowl Sunday, add a few more appetizer recipes to the mix. A few of our favorites are air fryer chicken wings, french onion dip, or bbq meatballs.
Recipe FAQ
Any of your favorite types of cheese will work on smoked pulled pork nachos! We actually find that using a couple cheeses add a great depth of flavor. Our favorites are freshly shredded monterey jack cheese, Mexican cheese, pepper jack cheese, cheddar cheese, etc. Even dairy-free cheese options would be great!
There are so many delicious pork nacho toppings that would be amazing on this pan of nachos. In the recipe card below, we have included fresh tomatoes, canned black beans, and sliced green onions. But they would also be great with other fresh toppings, like chopped red onion, black olives, pico de gallo, jalapeño peppers, and/or cilantro.
